The Upsala Blue Jays started the 2012 Victory League season on the right foot with a big 16-0 win over Flensburg on Sunday. The Blue Jays pounded out 17 hits in route to the win over the Falcons. The offense was led by a trio of Jays with 3 hits. Justin Lampert went 3-5 with 5 RBI and a pair of homeruns. Matt Swanson went 3-4 with 4 RBI. And Ben Burggraff went 3-4 with a double. Scott Biniek went 2-2 with a couple walks and drove in a pair while scoring 4 times. The Jays plated 2 in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd, and 10 in the 4th to blow the game open. The Blue Jays turned a couple double plays behind the pitching of Matt Swanson and John Fuchs. Swanson went 5 innings yielding only a lead off hit in the 1st. Swanson struck out 9 while walking 4 and hitting a batter. Fuchs finished up tossing 2 scoreless innings with a couple strikeouts.
