The Upsala Blue Jays win streak reached three games this past weekend as the Jays downed the Opole Bears by a 7-1 score.  Matt Swanson had a huge day for Upsala, driving in 5 of the 7 Blue Jays runs, which was highlighted by a 3-run homer in the 5th inning.  Swanson also pitched 5 innings of scoreless ball, earning the win on the mound.  Adam Gerads knocked in the other 2 runs for Upsala.

Derek Thielen doubled for Opole, as he was 1-3 at the plate.  Thielen took the loss for Opole on the mound.

After 3 games on the road to start the season, the Blue Jays will play at Varsity Field in the home opener this coming weekend.  The Jays will host the Freeport Black Sox, who is currently 0-1 in Victory League play.  Upsala enters the game 3-0 and a 1/2 game in front of Sobieski (2-0) in the Victory League West standings.  First pitch is slated for 1:30 PM on Sunday at Varsity Field in Upsala.
