Upsala Blue Jays

06/19/2012 - Another Weekend Split

THERE IS A NEW Bean Yack's Thoughts 6/20

Another weekend and another split for the Upsala Blue Jays.  This past Saturday the Jays traveled to Royalton to take on the Riverdogs.  Upsala received a great start from Brandon Welinski, but needed a 9th inning run to take down the Dogs 3-2.  The Jays were led at the plate by Dustin Biniek and Brady Burggraff.  Then on Sunday Nisswa traveled to Upsala.  After rain delayed the start, it was the Jays who jumped out early with 2 in the 1st.  Then the long ball hurt the home town team as the Lighting connected for 5 round trippers in route to 13-3 win.  The loss dropped the Jays to 5-5 in the Victory League West and 8-6 overall.  For more on these games, click on the box score.

As always for the entire list of results from the past week along with standings and roster changes, check out the Victory League web site.

This weekend the Blue Jays have their last regular season home game on Saturday as Royalton makes their return trip for a 1:30 start.  On Sunday, the Jays make the short trip to Flensburg to take on the Falcons.  Sunday is also a 1:30 start.

Also, UBA/Blue Jays raffle tickets are now available.  Check with any Blue Jays player or member of UBA for tickets.  The drawing is this Saturday, June 23 after the Blue Jays game vs. Royalton.  Come out and support the home town team.
