The Upsala Blue Jays took part in the Staples Tournament this past weekend.  The Jays went 2-1 in the tournament, losing to Long Prairie 5-2, and beating Duluth 4-2 and Warroad 12-4.  Upsala took 5th place in the 8 team tourney.  Other teams competing in the tournament were Staples, Clear Lake, Avon, and Park Rapids.  Staples defeated Clear Lake in the championship game.

The Blue Jays will get back to league action this coming weekend, as West Division rival Sobieski will visit Varsity Field in Upsala on Sunday.  The Blue Jays enter the game with a 9-2 record in league play.  Sobieski enters the game undefeated in league play with an 11-0 record.  Sobieski defeated Upsala a few weeks back by a 6-1 score.  Opening pitch is slated for 1:30 on Sunday.
